A vulnerability has been found in Apache HTTP Server up to 2.0.35 (Web Server) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function ap_log_rerror of the component CGI Log Handler. The ap_log_rerror function in Apache 2.0 through 2.035, when a CGI application encounters an error, sends error messages to the client that include the full path for the server, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information.

The bug was discovered 07/11/2002. The weakness was shared 05/06/2002 with Apache as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-1592 since 03/13/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
