Unknown vulnerability in the Certificate Enrollment ActiveX Control in Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP allow remote attackers to delete digital certificates on a user s system via HTML.

The issue has been introduced in 08/24/1996. The weakness was published 10/04/2002 as MS02-048 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-0699. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
