The spell checker plugin (check_me.mod.php) for SquirrelMail before 1.2.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a modified sqspell_command parameter.

The bug was discovered 01/24/2002. The weakness was published 12/31/2002 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xforce.iss.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-1650 since 03/28/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
