A vulnerability was found in Francisco Burzi PHP-Nuke 5.0/6.0 (Content Management System). It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function viewlink of the file index.php of the component Web_Links. The manipulation of the argument cid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in the Web_Links module for PHP-Nuke 5.x through 6.5 allows remote attackers to steal sensitive information via numeric fields, as demonstrated using (1) the viewlink function and cid parameter, or (2) index.php.

The weakness was released 06/16/2003 by Albert Puigsech Galicia (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2003-0279 since 05/12/2003. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
