A vulnerability was found in Monkey HTTP Daemon up to 0.6.1 (Web Server). It has been classified as problematic. This affects the function Post_Method of the component POST Request Handler. The Post_Method function in Monkey HTTP Daemon before 0.6.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a POST request without a Content-Type header.
The bug was discovered 03/24/2003. The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2003 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2003-1209 since 05/19/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
