A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in phpBB (Forum Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the file search.php. The manipulation of the argument search_author with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in search.php for PhpBB 2.0.4 and 2.0.9 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTMl or web script via the search_author parameter.

The weakness was released 07/19/2004 by Ory Segal (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-2055 since 05/04/2005.
