Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in PhpBB 2.0.8 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the cat_title parameter in index.php, (2) the faq[0][0] parameter in lang_faq.php as accessible from faq.php, or (3) the faq[0][0] parameter in lang_bbcode.php as accessible from faq.php.

The bug was discovered 07/16/2004. The weakness was published 07/27/2004 by Janek Vind with waraxe as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-0730 since 07/22/2004. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
