A vulnerability has been found in Xlinesoft ASPRunner up to 2.4 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file table-name]_search.asp. The manipulation of the argument SQL with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in ASPRunner 2.4 allow remote attackers inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) SearchFor parameter in [TABLE-NAME]_search.asp, (2) SQL parameter in [TABLE-NAME]_edit.asp, (3) SearchFor parameter in [TABLE]_list.asp, or (4) SQL parameter in export.asp.
The bug was discovered 07/04/2004. The weakness was presented 07/26/2004 by Ferruh Mavituna (Website). The advisory is shared for download at ferruh.mavituna.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-2059 since 05/04/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
