A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Netwin Surgeldap up to 1.0g (Directory Service Software). This issue affects an unknown part of the file admin.cgi of the component Administration Interface. The manipulation of the argument utoken with an unknown input leads to a remote code execution vulnerability. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

SurgeLDAP 1.0g (Build 12), and possibly other versions before 1.0h, allows remote attackers to bypass authentication for the administration interface via a direct request to admin.cgi with a modified utoken parameter.

The bug was discovered 03/28/2004. The weakness was shared 05/06/2004 by Ziv Kamir (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securitytracker.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-2254 since 07/17/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
