Buffer overflow in GNU make for IBM AIX 4.3.3, when installed setgid, allows local users to gain privileges via a long CC argument.
The issue has been introduced in 09/01/1999. The weakness was published 03/22/2004 by watercloud (Website). The advisory is available at secunia.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-2312 since 08/16/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
