A vulnerability has been found in MercuryBoard 1.1.1 (Forum Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file post.php. The manipulation of the argument qu with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in post.php for MercuryBoard 1.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via a reply post action for index.php with (1) the t parameter or (2) the qu parameter.
The weakness was published 01/24/2005 (Website). The advisory is available at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-0414 since 02/14/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy.
