The weakness was published 11/08/2006 by Jesse Ruderman, Martijn Wargers and Igor Bukanov (shutdown) with Martijn Wargers as MFSA2006-65 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-5464 since 10/23/2006. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.

It is declared as proof-of-concept.
