The Notes Remote Procedure Call (NRPC) protocol in IBM Lotus Notes Domino before 6.5.5 FP2 and 7.x before 7.0.2 does not require authentication to perform user lookups, which allows remote attackers to obtain the user ID file.
The bug was discovered 04/01/2006. The weakness was shared 11/09/2006 by Andrew Christensen with FortConsult (Website). The advisory is shared at fortconsult.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-5835 since 11/09/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
