Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in Novell ZENworks Patch Management 6.x before 6.2.2.181 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) Direction parameter to computers/default.asp, and the (2) SearchText, (3) StatusFilter, and (4) computerFilter parameters to reports/default.asp.
The weakness was released 10/27/2005 by Dennis Rand (CIRT) with CIRT.DK as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-3315 since 10/26/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k. By approaching the search of inurl:computers/default.asp it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Upgrading to version 6.x eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component.
