A vulnerability was found in Tincan PHPList 2.10.1 (Mailing List Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file admin/defaults.php. Directory traversal vulnerability in admin/defaults.php in PHPlist 2.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the selected%5B%5D parameter in an HTTP POST request.

The bug was discovered 11/02/2005. The weakness was published 11/07/2005 by Tobias Klein with trapkit.de (Website). The advisory is available at trapkit.de. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-3557 since 11/16/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
