A vulnerability was found in PHPList (Mailing List Software) (affected version not known). It has been classified as problematic. This affects some unknown functionality of the file /admin/spageedit.php. The manipulation of the argument title with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity.
The bug was discovered 11/02/2005. The weakness was published 11/07/2005 by Tobias Klein with trapkit.de (Website). The advisory is shared at tincan.co.uk. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and a exploit are known.
