A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in vTiger CRM 4.2 (Customer Relationship Management System). Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument date with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in vTiger CRM 4.2 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary SQL commands and bypass authentication via the (1) user_name and (2) date parameter in the HelpDesk module.
The bug was discovered 09/16/2005. The weakness was disclosed 11/24/2005 by Christopher Kunz with Hardened PHP Project (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-3819 since 11/26/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
