Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Mantis up to 1.0.0rc3 (Bug Tracking Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file manage_user_page.php. The manipulation of the argument sort with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in the manage user page (manage_user_page.php) in Mantis 1.0.0rc3 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) prefix and (2) sort parameters to the manage user page (manage_user_page.php), or (3) the sort parameter to view_all_set.php.
The bug was discovered 11/04/2005. The weakness was released 12/23/2005 by Tobias Klein with trapkit.de (Website). The advisory is available at gentoo.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-4519 since 12/28/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
