Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in Sun Java Development Kit (JDK) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 7 and earlier, and Java System Development Kit (SDK) and JRE 1.4.2_12 and earlier 1.4.x versions, allow attackers to develop Java applets or applications that are able to gain privileges, related to serialization in JRE.
The bug was discovered 12/19/2006. The weakness was published 12/20/2006 by Chris Evans with Google Chrome Security Team (Website). The advisory is shared for download at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-6745 since 12/26/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available.
The exploit is available at scary.beasts.org. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 1 days.
