The mincore function in the Linux kernel before 2.4.33.6 does not properly lock access to user space, which has unspecified impact and attack vectors, possibly related to a deadlock.
The weakness was shared 12/20/2006 by Doug Chapman (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at kernel.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-4814 since 09/15/2006. The attack needs to approached within the local network. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication.
