A vulnerability was found in Milkeyway Milkeyway Captive Portal 0.1. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file authuser.php. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Milkeyway Captive Portal 0.1 and 0.1.1 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) ipAddress, (2) act, (3) username, and (4) unspecified other parameters in (a) authuser.php; and the (5) username and (6) unspecified other parameters in (b) userstatistics.php.
The bug was discovered 03/01/2006. The weakness was presented 03/16/2006 by Francesco "aScii" Ongaro (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-1290 since 03/19/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
