A vulnerability has been found in Microsoft Internet Explorer (Web Browser) (the affected version unknown) and classified as critical. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01, 6, and 7 uses certain COM objects from Imjpcksid.dll as ActiveX controls, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors. NOTE: this issue might be related to CVE-2006-4193.
The weakness was shared 02/13/2007 by H. D. Moore with MetaSploit as MS07-016 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-4697. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
