A vulnerability has been found in CA eTrust Intrusion Detection 3.x and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the component Key Length Handler. Heap-based buffer overflow in SW3eng.exe in the eID Engine service in CA (formerly Computer Associates) eTrust Intrusion Detection 3.0.5.57 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a long key length value to the remote administration port (9191/tcp).
The bug was discovered 02/27/2007. The weakness was published 02/28/2007 with iDefense (Website). The advisory is shared at labs.idefense.com.
