The channel driver in Asterisk before 1.2.17 and 1.4.x before 1.4.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a SIP INVITE message with an SDP containing one valid and one invalid IP address.
The bug was discovered 03/19/2007. The weakness was released 03/21/2007 by Radu State Olivier Festor with Humberto J. Abdelnur (Website). The advisory is available at cisco.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-1561 since 03/21/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
