Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Oracle Database 10.2.1/10.2.2/10.2.3 (Database Software). Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the file boundary_rules.jps. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Oracle Database 10g uses a NULL pDacl parameter when calling the SetSecurityDescriptorDacl function to create discretionary access control lists (DACLs), which allows local users to gain privileges.
The weakness was published 04/18/2007 by Cesar Cerrudo with Oracle (Website). The advisory is shared at oracle.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-1442 since 03/13/2007. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
