Mozilla Thunderbird before 1.5.0.7 and SeaMonkey before 1.0.5, with "Load Images" enabled, allows remote user-assisted attackers to bypass settings that disable JavaScript via a remote XBL file in a message that is loaded when the user views, forwards, or replies to the original message.

The bug was discovered 09/14/2006. The weakness was released 09/15/2006 by Martijn Wargers (shutdown) with Martijn Wargers (Website). The advisory is available at redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-4570 since 09/06/2006. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely.
