A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Oracle Database Server 10.2.0.2 (Database Software). This affects some unknown processing. Unspecified vulnerability in Oracle Spatial component in Oracle Database 10.2.0.2 has unknown impact and remote authenticated attack vectors related to "create session" privileges, aka Vuln# DB02. NOTE: as of 20061023, Oracle has not disputed reports from reliable third parties that DB02 is for SQL injection in the SDO_DROP_USER_BEFORE package using a Trigger for a DROP USER statement in an anonymous PL/SQL block.

This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2006-5333 since 10/17/2006. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Required for exploitation is a authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k. The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 56054 (Oracle Database Multiple Vulnerabilities (October 2006 CPU)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Databases. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 19211 (Oracle October 2006 Security Update Multiple Vulnerabilities).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (56054), SecurityFocus (BID 20588†), Secunia (SA22396†) and SecurityTracker (ID 1017077†).
