A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer up to 5.01 (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component HTML Rendering. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 through 6 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted layout combinations involving DIV tags and HTML CSS float properties that trigger memory corruption, aka "HTML Rendering Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The weakness was published 11/14/2006 (Website). The advisory is shared at us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-4687. The attack may be initiated remotely.
