The bug was discovered 09/12/2006. The weakness was released 09/12/2006 by Stuart Pearson (ERRor) with Computer Terrorism (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-4640 since 09/08/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
