Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in WordPress (Content Management System). This affects an unknown functionality of the file wp-includes/query.php of the component GBK/Big5 Character Set. The manipulation of the argument s with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
SQL injection vulnerability in wp-includes/query.php in WordPress 2.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the s parameter, when DB_CHARSET is set to (1) Big5, (2) GBK, or possibly other character set encodings that support a "\" in a multibyte character.
