A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Apple QuickTime 7.4.4 (Multimedia Player Software). Apple QuickTime before 7.4.5 does not properly handle external URLs in movies, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information.
The bug was discovered 04/02/2008. The weakness was released 04/03/2008 by Jorge Escala with Open Tech Solutions as HT1241 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-1014 since 02/26/2008. The attack may be launched remotely.
