Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01, 6, and 7 accesses uninitialized memory in certain conditions, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and execute arbitrary code via vectors related to a document object "appended in a specific order" with "particular functions ... performed on" document objects, aka "HTML Objects Memory Corruption Vulnerability" or "Table Layout Memory Corruption Vulnerability," a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-2257.
The weakness was shared 08/13/2008 by Tavis Ormandy with Microsoft as MS08-045 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2008-2258 since 05/16/2008. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
