Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Wordpress (Content Management System). This issue affects an unknown part of the component RPC Interface. The manipulation of the argument post_type with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in Wordpress before 2.2.3 and Wordpress multi-user (MU) before 1.2.5a allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the post_type parameter to the pingback.extensions.getPingbacks method in the XMLRPC interface, and other unspecified parameters related to "early database escaping" and missing validation of "query string like parameters."
