A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in HP StorageWorks Storage Mirroring up to 4.4. Affected is some unknown processing of the file doubletake.exe. Stack-based buffer overflow in DoubleTake.exe in HP StorageWorks Storage Mirroring (SWSM) before 4.5 SP2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted encoded authentication request.

The weakness was released 06/04/2008 as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at marc.info. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2008-1661 since 04/03/2008.
