The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) in Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and SP3 and Server 2003 SP2 does not properly process authentication requests, which allows local users to gain privileges via a request with a crafted length, aka "LSASS Length Validation Vulnerability."
The weakness was released 02/08/2011 by Jorge Moura with Primavera BSS as MS11-014 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-0039 since 12/10/2010. Access to the local network is required for this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
