The bug was discovered 11/13/2008. The weakness was disclosed 11/17/2008 by Nitesh Dhanjani with Microsoft (Website). The advisory is shared at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2008-4216 since 09/24/2008. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
