A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Google Chrome up to 16.0.912.75 (Web Browser). Affected by this issue is the function xmlStringLenDecodeEntities of the file parser.c of the component libxml2. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The weakness was published 01/05/2012 by Boris Zbarsky with Google Chrome Security Team as 107128 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3919 since 10/01/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely.
