A vulnerability has been found in Adobe Acrobat Reader up to 9.5/10.1.2 (Document Reader Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code. Adobe Reader and Acrobat before 9.5, and 10.x before 10.1.2, on Windows and Mac OS X allow attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via unspecified vectors, a different vulnerability than CVE-2011-4370 and CVE-2011-4372.
The weakness was published 01/10/2012 by Alin Rad Pop with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is shared for download at adobe.com. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-4373 since 11/04/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.

A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 12017.
