Use-after-free vulnerability in Google Chrome before 17.0.963.65 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors related to quote handling.
The weakness was published 03/04/2012 by Chamal De Silva (miaubiz) with Google as 113707 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3039 since 08/09/2011. The attack may be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 17.0.963.65 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at chrome.google.com. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at trac.webkit.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
