A vulnerability has been found in LightNEasy 1.2.2 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file thumbsup.php. The manipulation of the argument cache_dir with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
thumbsup.php in Thumbs-Up 1.12, as used in LightNEasy "no database" (aka flat) and SQLite 1.2.2 and earlier, allows remote attackers to copy, rename, and read arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the image parameter with a modified cache_dir parameter containing a %00 (encoded null byte).
