Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in WebKit, as used in Apple iOS before 5.1, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified vectors, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-0586, CVE-2012-0588, and CVE-2012-0589.
The weakness was presented 03/07/2012 by Sergey Glazunov (Slawomir Blazek) with VUPEN as HT5192 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-0587 since 01/12/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
It is declared as proof-of-concept.
