A vulnerability has been found in Google Chrome 17.0.963.83 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component Skia. Skia, as used in Google Chrome before 18.0.1025.142, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact via unknown vectors.
The weakness was presented 03/28/2012 by Christian Holler (scarybeasts) with Google Chrome Security Team as 117588 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-3065 since 08/09/2011. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is necessary for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
