Buffer overflow in rn5auth.dll in RealNetworks Helix Server and Helix Mobile Server 14.x before 14.3.x allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted authentication credentials.
The weakness was shared 04/02/2012 by Derek Brown with Microsoft Vulnerability Research (Website) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). The advisory is shared at helixproducts.real.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-0942 since 01/31/2012. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely.
