A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in LibTIFF 3.9.0/3.9.2 (Image Processing Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the file tif_getimage.c. tif_getimage.c in LibTIFF 3.9.0 and 3.9.2 on 64-bit platforms, as used in ImageMagick, does not properly perform vertical flips, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted TIFF image, related to "downsampled OJPEG input."
The weakness was shared 07/02/2010 as Bug 607198 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-2233.
