mshtmled.dll in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted Microsoft Office document that causes the HtmlDlgHelper class destructor to access uninitialized memory, aka "Uninitialized Memory Corruption Vulnerability."

The issue has been introduced in 03/05/2008. The weakness was published 10/13/2010 as MS10-071 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3329. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.

It is possible to download the exploit at packetstormsecurity.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 952 days.
