Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8 does not prevent rendering of cached content as HTML, which allows remote attackers to access content from a different (1) domain or (2) zone via unspecified script code, aka "Cross-Domain Information Disclosure Vulnerability," a different vulnerability than CVE-2010-3348.
The issue has been introduced in 03/05/2008. The weakness was presented 12/16/2010 as MS10-090 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-3342. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.

Applying the patch MS10-090 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at microsoft.com.
