The blk_rq_map_user_iov function in block/blk-map.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.36.2 allows local users to cause a denial of service (panic) via a zero-length I/O request in a device ioctl to a SCSI device.
The issue has been introduced in 03/20/2006. The weakness was released 01/03/2011 by Dan Rosenberg as Bug 652957 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-4163. Local access is required to approach this attack.
