A vulnerability has been found in HP OpenView Network Node Manager 7.53 (Network Management Software) and classified as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the file jovgraph.exe. The manipulation of the argument arg with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Unspecified vulnerability in jovgraph.exe in jovgraph in HP OpenView Network Node Manager (OV NNM) 7.51 and 7.53 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malformed displayWidth option in the arg parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 01/13/2011 by SilentSignal with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2011-0261. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
