A vulnerability was found in HP OpenView Network Node Manager 7.53 (Network Management Software). It has been declared as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality in the library ovutil.dll. The manipulation of the argument COOKIE with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The weakness was published 01/13/2011 by SilentSignal with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-0264. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
