Google Chrome before 10.0.648.127 on Linux does not properly handle parallel execution of calls to the print method, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via crafted JavaScript code.

The weakness was disclosed 03/10/2011 by Daniel Divricean (SirDarckCat) with Google Chrome Security Team (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-1186 since 03/03/2011. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 119020 (Google Chrome Prior to 10.0.648.127 Multiple Vulnerabilities).

Upgrading to version 8.0.552.209 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at chrome.google.com.
